Petermann Glacier is a large glacier located in North-West Greenland to the east of Nares Strait, and is the northernmost glacier in the world. It connects the Greenland ice sheet to the Arctic Ocean near 81 degrees north latitude. A large chunk estimated to be 100 sq. miles calved off the glacier in August, 2010.
